Hey ya'll!
I just snapped some pictures of that wolf half suit I was working on. If you want to see the finished product check out the pics below.

( Pics here )
Most of the time I am granted far more artistic freedom with my suits. So, it was a challenge to really stick to exactly what the artist wanted. With most people if I think it would be cool to add a stripe, or something stylistic to a suit they are all about it. Having to work creatively within something set in stone really can make you rethink your typical methods.
I hope you like it... Oh yeah, I have a company name now. It's "the Critter Factory". My website is on the way soon :P

I know this has been discussed before about Disney being extremely strict about making suits based of their characters and was wondering to was extent do they take is as forgery?
I know some fursuit creators will sell creatures simular and not put specific markings or jewelary that would make it an official copy and is understandable. I make character costumes based off anime and there's been no problems but is selling the only issue?
or is it only a problem when someone is using the costume as an act or play for a business?
I ask this b/c i was just ask to make a Bolt costume from the recent disney animation film and i know i have seen another Bolt fursuit running around with a squeaky carrot toy.
media.photobucket.com/image/bolt/Haribo8 125/bolt.png
I have not agreed just yet cuz im worry about being charged for this?
If i was to make a white shepard costume with the same likeness but no "bolt" mark on the side would that be fine?
any and all input would be greatly appriciate especially b/c i ride on the border line of making fursuits and cosplay costumes so most of my creations are based off exsiting characters from game/movies/and anime and i do enjoy making these for others too since i find it more of a challenge to make something that already has alot of appeal and "fans" to be good enough for them to accpect to say.
help please ;_;

Just finished watching 'Darker Than Black' Season 1.

Damn.
The ending was pretty goddamn excellent. There's a very solid sense of finality and closure that makes this episode wonderful, especially the scene where Hei, Yin, & Mao separate from Huang. They cleared up alot of mystery about the show, like the origin of Hei's contractor power, why he doesn't need to conduct a renumeration like others, or the motives of the Syndicate & the E.P.R. Although they left certain things up to the viewers imaginations, like what exactly the origins of 'The Gate' were, it wasn't unpleasant by any means.

It makes me really excited to see what direction they take with Season 2. I wonder if it will deal with the disappearance of Yin in the last episode? Only time will tell at this point. The first 6 episodes have been dealing entirely with Suou & her awakening as a contractor. It starts off endearingly cute...

...and progresses towards something increasingly gritty & dark with each passing episode.

If you're looking for something excellent to watch, DtB is your show. It's the production team responsible for Eureka 7, Full metal Alchemist, Tokyo Magnitude 8, & Wolf's Rain, among others. The music, which has some pretty incredible atmospheric pieces, is by none other than Yoko Kano.
It's directed by Tensai Okamura, which generally means QUALITY.
It's one of the few series that I would like to actually own, & ardently reccomend to others.

Received my order of Fuu Dog stickers in over the weekend, and all those that so VERY patiently waited on their pre-orders have theirs (plus some bonus stickers) going out in the mail today.
I will have them at MFF, but if you aren't going and would like to grab one yourself, you can buy them here: http://www.theskulldog.com/blog/product s-page/stickers/fuu-dog-moon/
The Feather Serpent design is on pre-order still, and will be printed following MFF.

This is a preview of my plush Uncle Dapper that is coming out soon! I need to get better photos since he does have cool looking claws (made from smooth leather- like material) that you can't see in this photo and his hair is too smoothed down for a proper monster (needs to be fluffed up!) This is just a shot the company sent me so i need to get the prototype in hand to get some awesome pictures for the preorder and make sure the real thing holds up IRL.
I'm hoping to start preorders in about a week or so! Iam also trying to think of a cool incentive for the first 100 buyers. A free signed original sketch of Dapper, i think. Stay tuned for info on that.
He will retail for $20 plus shipping.

We can't get in the house until Wednesday. I was wondering if anyone had a place we could stay for the night since we are new to the area.
To top it off it's been raining like crazy and we don't wanna drive for two hours in the rain. There's a 20% precipitation ratio tomorrow.
Besides we live in TN, and want to meet new furs. :3 - Oxa and his mate.

I'm looking to send out Christmas cards this year, and I'm after addresses, as I've most likely lost them from last year, as well as people moving and such ^^
Anyways, if you'd like a card from the ebony kitty from the UK, leave a comment with your mailing address so I can see about getting one off to you ASAP ^_^

I decided to experiment with a new icon idea I got a week or so ago. It took me a while to solidify the process I need to go through in order to make these, but I think I've figured it out. What was my idea? THIS icons!
We're all guilty of "this" comments here on LJ, so why not have an icon to match our text and thoughts? I was thinking about trying to find someone I could commission for something like that, then I figured I'd just do it myself (what with me having a degree in animation and all, lol). And hey, while I'm at it, maybe I can offer them as small, cheap commissions. I've wittled down the time it takes me to make one from two hours down to about an hour. It's not the actual animating that took so long initially, it was the exporting and compositing that took forever. But I've written out detailed notes, so I know what to do (I hope).
Would anyone be interested in one of these? I'm currently making them for $10 a pop (I may lower the price once it takes me less than an hour to make one, lol). I only want to take on maybe two more, just so I can see if I can make them a bit quicker. If you're interested, just drop me a comment with some references. :3 I can do it with or without the blink, just let me know your preference.

Left work early Saturday and made it to the book signing by Brandon Sanderson in Milford. Listening to him talk to people and answer their questions (without spoilers) about the Wheel of Time as well as his own stories interested me in reading some of his other work. I put an order in for the hardcover of the series that launched his career I guess? He was a very nice guy, and by the end of the evening (I was at the back of the line) I had heard so many questions answered that I had nothing to say other than congratulate him on a job well done with the book. I bought an additional copy of the new book and had it signed for my brother. I'm fairly sure he doesn't read my LJ so it should still be a surprise early christmas gift (going to give it to him this weekend so he doesn't go out and buy it himself).
Sunday I cleaned up the house quite a bit. Reorganized things and the place, living room in particular, feels a lot better. I poked through all the art that I've collected that has yet to be hung and I'd really like to get going on framing those and finding a place for them.
After all that cleaning Kei and I made our way to Salisbury, MA and ate at a Yelp recommended mexican restaurant. It was a little more expensive than Yelp lead us to believe (Does two $ really mean $15-20 a plate?!), but we had some excellent food there. Then we hit up a Squirrel Nut Zippers show with Willow and friends.
Yesterday was spent uh, being a bum and playing The World Ends with You most of the day. :)
Then I came into work today to find TOMORROW IS A SURPRISE HOLIDAY. Yay for days off!

Sometimes I think I'm about to die. You always hear about your life flashing before your eyes. That happens to me from time to time. I'll be sitting at my desk or walking Mesa and all of a sudden I will get this flood of images from 40 years ago. Usually they are not traumatic events, just some mundane event that happened in my childhood. Most times the images fade just as quickly, but sometimes they will stick with me for a little while. It makes me stop and think, "Now why the fuck did I just think about that?!? That happened 40 years ago!" It's especially bad if it strikes in the middle of the night because the memory can more easily be stuck in the conscious portion of the brain, and I'll end up thinking about the event over and over again. If it was a bad event, then the whole thing starts replaying and I get regrets or I start second-guessing myself even though I was maybe 5 or 6 years old. What the hell did I know back then?!?
So there has been a lot of talk lately about the 40th anniversary of "Sesame Street." The show came out just as I was reaching the age where it would have had a significant impact on me. Every evening I would watch the Big 3 of "Sesame Street," "The Electric Company," and "Zoom!" I think it would both please and piss off my teachers that I did that. On the one paw they knew I was watching educational programing every night. On the other paw they would get pissed when I would spill secrets to the class about the show as they turned on the broadcast the next morning for us which was a repeat from the previous evening.
Thinking about watching the shows then opened the floodgates of other memories of the time. I actually had memories of kindergarten where we listened to radio shows. Radio?!? Holy crap! My! How times have changed! Of course I have very fond memories of listening to the CBS Mystery Theater on drives with my parents as we came home late from parties at my relatives. I know I could probably find them online or on cd, but it would be insignificant. It was one of those things where it was the complete moment that can never be re-created; a boy in the back seat of a '72 Bel Air at 10:30pm listening to a spooky broadcast. OK. Enough nostalgia for today. Gotta keep livin' in the present.

Hey guys! I'm making a bunch of these to sell at Ausa next weekend, but I wanted to see if anyone on here would be interested in these, too?
Once I get more materials I'm gonna double/triple em up so that I have different versions-singles, doubles and triples. For triples I'm thinking all three sushi's stacked ontop of each other with jump rings inbetween, same goes for the sweets just paired up, probably :)
Just putting out feelers to see if there is any interest online for these :x They'd probably run $10-$20 depending on the amount of characters on them :)

You can talk about it, Spunky. Maybe his story will get others to pay attention to their health and get vaccinated when it comes available. I can't even express how frightening this experience has been, and believe me, none of you want to go through it.
The quick and dirty: My husband,
By Friday morning, he was having such difficulty breathing that he had to be put under sedation and intubated, and his breathing assisted by a ventilator. He fought the vent the entire time. His blood oxygen levels (aka "O2 sats") were never that great, and he would occasionally spike fevers. They were never able to drop the oxygen level he was breathing below 90% for any decent length of time.
They made the decision to take him from out local hospital to Massachusetts General on Saturday November 7th, and of course, that was a bit of a rigmarole, because the ambulance didn't have the ventilation support that he needed, so he had to be transported via LifeFlight. (I told them that he'd be disappointed to miss a chopper ride -- he's a real aviation buff.) Ten minutes after he arrived at the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at MGH, they administered paralytics and heavier sedation so he'd stop fighting the vent. In other words, they put him in a drug-induced coma.
Yesterday, they did an echocardiogram (ultrasound imaging of his heart) to make sure that his heart was not damaged due to the edema he's been experiencing and the stress of his illness. They didn't get an ideal picture, as he was not tolerating being turned on his side very well, but they think his heart is doing fine. They also administered nitric oxide to try to dilate his airways and improve his O2 sats, and that worked for a little while, and then... not so much.
At 9:00 this morning, they called me and said that they thought he should be placed on ECMO, and let the machine take over the job of oxygenating his blood, so that his lungs could rest and heal. (That article is sort of a downer; just read it for the technical bits.) They got me right out of bed, and I was there by 10:40. I got to visit with him for about an hour, and then they kicked me out so they could do the procedure. ECMO is often administered to neonates (preemies), so Wolfie's procedure was done by a pediatric surgeon -- I meant to ask him if it was a nice break for him to work on such large blood vessels after working on tiny babies all the time.
He tolerated the procedure well, and was okay when I left. The next 24 hours will be rugged as they get all the settings figured out, but I have faith in his medical team, and all the faith in the world in him, and more gratitude than I can express for all the love and support and prayers and good thoughts that are flowing to us from people who only vaguely know who we are.
I can't be choosy. Disseminate this as widely as you like to get more prayers and more good thoughts for him. He is my whole world, and a good friend to so many, and we just want him well and home.
Please keep praying for them; she updates their journals regularly with information regarding his condition. I really just want to see him get better and come home to her. They are truly wonderful people, and some of the first people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing in this community.
